About Omnitron Products
Made in USA Omnitron takes pride in the fact that our products are manufactured right here in the USA (Irvine, CA).
Why is “Made In USA” important?
-USA manufacturers are highly regulated by federal and state governments, and must follow stricter quality control processes and respect for human rights. This leads to higher-quality products that have longer MTBFs and a longer life.
-Domestic Shipping – Omnitron products are not being shipped on the ‘slow-boat’ from overseas. Omnitron’s strategic distribution network also helps reduce the time it takes to get the products to our customers. Warranty Service Omnitron fiber network products set the standards for quality and reliability.
All FlexPoint, miConverter and OmniConverter media converter products are covered by a Lifetime Warranty (including power supply).
Most iConverter products are also covered by a Lifetime Warranty.
The lifetime warranty is transferable and valid for as long as you own the product.
A Lifetime Warranty may be obtained by the original purchaser by registering this product within ninety (90) days from the date of shipment at www.omnitronsystems.com/support.
During the warranty period, Omnitron will, at its option, repair or replace a product which is proven to be defective with the same product or with a product with at least the same functionality.
OmniConverter and RuggedNet Ethernet and PoE switches are covered by a 5 year warranty (2 year warranty on the included power supply). Temperature Hardened Installing your network devices in extreme temperature locations?
Omnitron uses specialized components and manufactures products to operate in some of coldest and hottest places on the planet!
-Commercial Temperature – 0° to 50° C
-Wide Temperature - -40° to 60°C
-Extended Temperature - -40° to 75°C
-Industrial Temperature - -40° to 85°C Conformal Coating What is Conformal Coating?
Conformal Coating is the process of applying various types of thick polymer films to protect the critical components of networking equipment. The film ‘conforms’ to the figure and contours of a printed circuit board (PCB) and its components, providing a layer of protection to solder joints, the leads of electronic components, exposed traces, and other metallic areas from corrosion, thus extending the functioning lifecycle of the device.
Do I need Conformal Coating?
In harsh operating environments, components are susceptible to the elements such as moisture, debris, chemicals, gases and salt spray. This makes components deteriorate at a faster pace. However, a Conformal Coating can be used to add a layer of protection to these exposed components, protecting them from corrosion and electrical failure.
Types of Conformal Coating
IPC/MIL specifications classify conformal coatings into types by the cured chemistry of the coating. The types and associated acronyms are shown below: Type AR - Acrylic Type ER - Epoxy Type SR - Silicone Type UR - Polyurethane or Urethane
Conformal Coating Omnitron Products
Omnitron has many Conformal Coating options, but the most popular is our Urethane “UR” coating that has a thickness of .002” to .004”, complying with MIL-I-46058C and IPC-CC-830 specifications.
Urethane “UR” is a hard, durable coating that offers excellent protection against corrosion, chemicals and abrasion.
Omnitron gives you the option to add Conformal Coating to virtually any media converter, switch or extender that we manufacture!

Omnitron media converters, Ethernet and PoE switches are also BAA compliant. This means that they comply with the Buy America Act, which requires federally funded projects to buy American-made and manufactured goods wherever possible. A product is defined as American–made under “Buy American” if at least 55% of its constituent parts and/or materials originated in the US.
Omnitron products are also NDAA compliant, meaning we do not use any equipment manufactured by the list of prohibited Chinese manufacturers. Telecom Service Providers, Federal Government and State/Local governments may require products to be NDAA compliant to protect from viruses and malware in their networks. RoHS Compliance Omnitron products are RoHS (6/6), WEEE and REACH compliant and manufactured to addresses the use of chemical substances, and their potential impacts on both human health and the environment. Omnitron’s initiative to comply with environmental directives is part of the company’s quality design engineering process, which includes design for environment, reduction in the use of hazardous materials, recycling, and supplier responsibility.
